Theresa Kosen is the Executive Director of the San Diego Museum Council, a membership-based organization of museums, historic sites, science centers and cultural institutions spread across San Diego County. The programs of the Council create public awareness and build support for these institutions as well as provide affordable access for San Diego County residents and visitors. The Council also develops services that aid museums in networking, shared resources and professional development. Ms. Kosen actively represents the Council in numerous civic organizations. She currently serves as Secretary on the Steering Committee of the San Diego Regional Arts & Culture Coalition and has been selected as a Mentor for the 2017 Rising Arts Leaders Mentorship Program. Ms. Kosen has served on San Diego Host Committees for the 2015 California Association of Museums Annual Conference and Western Museums Association. Before joining the Council, previous positions have included Media Coordinator at the San Diego County Fair; Director of Development at the Arthritis Foundation, San Diego Area Chapter; Executive Director of the Convention and Visitors Bureau in Shakopee, Minnesota; and Marketing Coordinator for Landmark Center, a historic landmark/cultural center in St. Paul, Minnesota. Ms. Kosen holds a BA degree in English and a minor in Public Relations from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire.
