Caroline Nordquist has worked for more than fifteen-years as a fundraiser in the San Diego arts and culture community. For the past four years, she has held the role of Senior Development Manager at Mingei International Museum. Her passion for Mingei — as a museum that shares folk art, craft and design from around the world – is partly inspired by her international upbringing, having lived in Africa, Brazil and Holland, as a child. In her position at Mingei she oversees the organization’s contributed income and annual campaigns. She is also involved in a community engagement role at the organization and its current Capital Campaign. She has held positions at several local arts organizations including the San Diego Museum of Art, La Jolla Playhouse and Outside the Lens. Her roles have encompassed fundraising with individuals, annual campaigns, and government grants, marketing and public relations and event planning. She received her journalism degree in the UK, where she started her career as a journalist on a weekly paper in the Cotswolds, before beginning her fundraising career. Caroline is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and serves on the board of the Environment California Education Fund.
